The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the urban setting.

Note: Spoilers for the third episode of the new season follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of characters who will separate from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Seekers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look mismatched, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.

Reasons to Leave

First, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then paid off his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
  • However, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group enter places they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:

  • The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.

This means them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight participants to assemble the Seekers and Strategists parties.

Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
